So many 90’s fashion trends are back this year. The one I am currently most excited about is “The iconic Dior Saddle bag” the “it bag” of the early 2000’s. When I first heard about the comeback I immediately became excited! I mean if there is ever a 90’s or early 2000’s trend that’s making a comeback you know I’m all over it. Specially if it was ever something worn on Sex in the City by Carrie Bradshaw. I was literately jumping with joy when I saw it May of this year.
I wasn’t the only one my twin sister who was lucky enough to sport the bag back in the year 2000, found out about the comeback and immediately send me a post on Instagram. If you follow any of the “It Girls” like Kendal Jenner, Gigi Hadid or Influencers like Negin Mirsalehi on Instagram you too saw a new wave of influencer sporting the iconic saddle bags the same day Dior made it available in stores. I knew right then and there that this bag was going to make a strong come back.
The Bag was revamped and re-introduced by Dior’s now Creative Directors and head designer Maria Grazia Chiuri. The bag was first designed in 1999 by then head designer John Galliano. He introduced the bag in his 1999 Wild West inspired ready to wear runway show. It wasn’t till the year 2000 when trend setter Carrie Bradshaw wore it in season three of sex in the city that it became the bag to have. This is when I made my first purchase of the iconic saddle bag.

18 years later! Revamped in a larger and more robust version of the original one, The Dior Saddle bag has ones again become the “it bag” , with an added accessory “The Guitar Strap” that makes the bag both trendy and easier to carry. The guitar strap from Dior and other luxury brands is accompany by an extravagant price tag ranging in price from $895 to $1,800. Many other luxury brands are also in with the guitar strap trend like Fendi, and Valentino just to name a few.

if you are anything like me and already own the saddle bag adding just the strap is not a deal beaker. You can also add a budget friendly one and save even more. I found some great dupes that are just a gorgeous with a much lighter price tag as low as $35!
